Cyber Security: Password Management

Unpopular opinion: I don't change my passwords. 

Why? 

Because it's silly if you're doing password management right. 

Most of us have 100's of logins nowadays. 

So the traditional “change your passwords often" advice just doesn’t work. 

Here's what I recommend: 

• Use a password manager like 1Password  
• Create unique long and complex passwords for each and everything you need a password for
• Enable Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) on everything 
• Monitor for breaches (1Password has a feature called Watchtower that does this for you) and change that specific password if any of yours pops up on a list 
• As a bonus tip for extra security, make sure you pair a Yubi key with your password manager. 

If you do this, there's very little need to change your passwords.
